Gamescom 2017 may have drawn to a close, but the excitement is far from over. We’ll be looking at and discussing all the exciting news that came up during the show in the coming weeks. But first, let’s roundup some of the most exciting gameplay that’s been showcased over the past few days, shall we?
Assassin’s Creed Origins
Over 20 minutes of Assassin’s Creed Origins gameplay. As we’ve discussed a good bit recently, most of us here at Obilisk are feeling quite optimistic about the newest entry in the longstanding franchise. This gameplay only reinforces that optimism with its captivating storytelling and incredible production quality.
Far Cry 5
A gameplay walkthrough with commentary from some devs. I discussed Far Cry 5’s potential a week ago, and while this showcase doesn’t really reveal much in terms of the game’s storytelling quality, it’s great to see some new content nonetheless.
This might be the most unexpected thing to have surfaced at Gamescom 2017, namely because nobody had ever heard of it beforehand. The game was kept under wraps extremely well, and was revealed a couple days ago out of the blue as an almost-complete product. In any case, it’s looking great, so be sure to check out the gameplay trailer!
Cuphead is arguably the most-anticipated indie title of recent years. We were lucky enough to get hands-on with the game at Gamescom, and were glad to find that the game is as good as we’ve all hoped it’d be.
Monster Hunter World
Fans have been waiting for this one for a long time. And thanks to the announcement at E3 2017, they learned that Monster Hunter World was finally happening. Enjoy this 14-minute gameplay showcase!
Ace Combat 7
A lesser known series, yet one known for its polish and quality. As far as air combat titles go, Ace Combat is the franchise you can count on.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Gamescom 2017 brought with it more gameplay footage from what will surely be this Fall’s funniest and most crude title. South Park fans won’t want to miss this!
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
Particularly after recent events in the US, Wolfenstein 2 is a title many will be eager to pick up this Fall. We talked about this game after its E3 2017 announcement, and we’re definitely excited to finally see more gameplay.
Middle Earth: Shadow Of War
One of my personal most-anticipated titles of Fall 2017, Middle Earth: Shadow Of War looks better and better with each trailer. Enjoy this 25-minutes of new gameplay from Gamescom!
Gamescom 2017 featured tons of gameplay footage. What I’ve highlighted here is a decent chunk of what was shown at the show, but there’s lots more.
If you’d like to see more, be sure to browse around YouTube as well as stay tuned on Obilisk for continued coverage over the next few weeks!
